Personal Profile
Dr. Xudong Jing, is a Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering with over 30 years of experience covering oil and gas development, improved and enhanced recovery, unconventional shale gas development and carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS). For over 20 years, he worked with Shell in a number of technical and leadership roles internationally including assignments in Europe, Middle East, Asia and US. Prior to joining Shell, Dr. Jing served as a Lecturer and then Reader in the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College London (1994-2001) where is currently a Visiting Professor.
Dr. Jing is a recognized thought leader in the oil and gas industry and has served on the executive and technical committees of numerous international learned societies. He is also a Fellow of the Energy Institute (FEI), a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), a Chartered Petroleum Engineer (CEng) and a Distinguished Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He received the highest individual achievement award from the Society of Core Analysts (SCA) – the Darcy Award, which is awarded to only one recipient worldwide each year. He has published over 100 papers including co-authoring two books in petroleum engineering including “The Imperial College Lectures in Petroleum Engineering” published in 2018.
